"Dear Me Again" is a hit song by English singer John Newman. The song was released equally a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the United Kingdom where it was released on thirty June 2013 as the lead unmarried from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The song was written by Newman and Steve Booker and produced by Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was later on featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA fourteen.
Information technology was nominated for the Brit Award for British Single of the Twelvemonth at the 2014 BRIT Awards[1] and nominated for the 2014 Ivor Novello Honor for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
Background [edit]
In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the song had something special near information technology in the studio. He said, "Yeah. The guy I wrote it with (Steve Booker), we turned effectually and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'There's something proficient here'. Simply you but never know how skillful it is, you know?".
Newman was besides asked if information technology was hard to write the lyrics about dear and pause-up, he said, "No, it's the but place where I really open up upwards to somebody, through my music. I'm producing [the album] and writing it, it'southward proficient. I similar to keep a hold of everything".[2]
With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the vocal is written in the key of G Dorian. The fundamental signature is in D small. Both are modes of F major, of which either 1 tin be used as the tonic note/chord, because, however, the F major chord is not present in the vocal.[3]
Music video [edit]
2 music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, accept been released for "Beloved Me Again". One version[4] directed past Vaughan Arnell is based on the classic dearest story of Romeo and Juliet.[5] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French extra Margaux Billard, carefully watched over by her brother, Tybalt, played past Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a cliffhanger as they go run over by a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman's follow-up single "Cheating", which starts with a newspaper article indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a hitting-and-run accident.
Some other version features Newman, backed past musicians, singing in a dimly lit room.[6]

In popular culture [edit]
"Love Me Over again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA 14,[viii] giving it a cult status among FIFA fans, too as the Federation's #WorldCupAtHome series, which opened FIFA's archive during the COVID-xix pandemic. Information technology as well appeared in the endmost credits of the 2014 science fiction picture show, Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Prowl and Emily Blunt. The song was also featured on the American TV serial, Suits in the episode, "Cached Secrets", which aired on six March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the get-go episode of season four, "I-Two-Three Go", which aired 11 June 2014. "Love Me Once more" is also a playable vocal in Just Dance 2015. The vocal was also used as the theme to the television receiver show Whiskey Cavalier which debuted in Feb 2019 and ended in May afterwards one flavour.[ix] In August 2020 and May 2021 it was used in Idiot box and radio adverts for National Track.
The French aqueduct TF6 also used this song to shutdown its channel.
